On Friday, Aug. 23, the country star (whose real name is Jason DeFord) announced his new album Beautifully Broken — ahead of his upcoming headline tour of the same name — and shared his newest single "Get By."

Additionally, all net profits from each pre-order of Beautifully Broken in his U.S. web store will go to organizations helping those who struggle with mental health issues and addiction.

On the 39-year-old singer/songwriter's new single "Get By," Jelly sings about navigating life's obstacles — and getting back up when you're falling down.

"I light every bridge I see, yeah, just to watch it burn / If you'd seen all the hell I've seen, it'd make your stomach turn / I think you know / Why I do what I do when I do, mm," he sings on the gospel-tinged track.

Ahead of his album announcement, the "Save Me" artist spoke to The New York Times Magazine about the intention he sets when releasing music.

“I’m looking for songs that have a purpose,” Jelly told the outlet. “When I go to put out a song under the name Jelly Roll, I think to myself, Why?"

He continued: "Because for the first time in my life, it has nothing to do with a financial decision. I’m well past putting out anything for money. So, now, it really is a why."

Jelly then elaborated on his song "Winning Streak," featured on Beautifully Broken. "I was writing from the perspective of a story I’ve seen happen for real," he said of the song.

He also opened up about his relationship with substances and how, despite straying from harder drugs, he still attends Alcoholics Anonymous meetings.

"Something I do to maintenance my relationship with those drugs is I still attend the meetings but I never share," the "Son of a Sinner" performer said. "I just quietly sit and appreciate the message and the meaning."

Jelly added: "This is the first time that I’ve talked about this publicly. I don’t tell people I go to meetings. So I just sit and I watch, and this kid, he’s going through it. You can tell. One of the old men sitting in there was like: 'Look, man. It’s all good. Nobody came in here on a winning streak.'"

That comment, he said, informed the song.

Beautifully Broken is due on Oct. 11 via BBR Music Group/Republic Records.
