Jay Leno and Drew Barrymore go way back!
On Thursday, Sept 12, the former Tonight Show host surprised Barrymore and cohost Ross Mathews when he revealed that he met the actress when she was a toddler during a segment of The Drew Barrymore Show.
“I met Drew when she was 3 years old. I was dating her aunt. She was asked to babysit, and I picked you up and bounced you on my knee,” Leno recalled as the trio toured the CBS lot. “It was just very funny.”
Shocked by the comedian's revelation, Barrymore looked excitedly over to Mathews before replying, "How did we never talk about that? Do you remember anything about me?"
“Well, you were a baby! I was the boyfriend of the babysitter," Leno shared. "You would come in and sit and you’d make the kid laugh.”
While the Charlie's Angels actress didn't quite remember Leno's babysitting stints, she recalled her first time appearing on The Tonight Show.

“I believe the first time I did the Tonight Show with Jay was when [Johnny] Carson was still the host and Jay was the guest host,” she said before addressing Matthews, who got his "big break" as an intern on the long running talk show.
“But I also know what it’s like for a gentleman to take a chance on you and change the life that you know," she told Matthews. "And for me that was Steven Spielberg, and for you it’s Jay Leno. It’s the deepest, and most meaningful, profound thing.”
“Well, I’m very proud of both of you," Leno said.
