Jay Chou postpones HK concert for the fifth time

20 Jan – It is now almost funny to know that Jay Chou is postponing his Hong Kong concert yet again.

As reported on Mingpao, the singer, who was set to perform in Hong Kong as a part of his Carnival World Tour in March, was forced to postpone again due to the fifth wave of the COVID-19 pandemic in Hong Kong.

Best Shine Group, which was in charge of organising the concert, revealed the bad news on social media, saying, "Since preparing for the Hong Kong stop of Jay Chou's Carnival World Tour in 2019, we have waited two years without a moment's thought."

"Due to the global spread of the virus and the severe pandemic situation, in order to cooperate with the latest pandemic prevention measures announced by the Hong Kong government, the "Jay Chou Carnival World Tour", which was originally scheduled to be held at the Central Harbourfront Event Space from March 11 to 13 and 18 to 20, 2022 will be postponed."

The company also added that they are currently cooperating with the government's various measures and hopes that everyone will be considerate and wait for the next announcement, which they will reveal when the situation improves.

To recap, Jay was supposed to hold his said six-show concert in Hong Kong Disneyland in December 2019 but it was postponed due to the Anti-Extradition Law protest. It was later rescheduled to November 2020 when the COVID-19 pandemic subsided, but then rescheduled again to April following another wave, this time to the Central Harbourfront Event Space. However, the rising number of cases had delayed the concert again to August 2021, and then again to March 2022.
