As for Christmas, Momoa explains that he loves getting to go outdoors and take in the chilly weather.
"I'm pretty excited to be playing in the snow," he says. "I will throw some snowballs, get some snowboarding in."
Momoa says he is a big fan of the snow despite being born in a warmer and more tropical climate.
"I was born in Hawaii and raised in Iowa, so I think if I was just in Hawaii, I wouldn't experience this [feeling]," he says.
"I got to have snow, man," Momoa continues, further detailing that he plans to spend the winter holiday season this year with his two kids: son Nakoa-Wolf and his daughter, Lola — both of whom he shares with ex-wife Lisa Bonet.
"I'll be getting my mom out to Montana and my babies and some of their friends. We're going to go snowmobiling," the father of two tells PEOPLE. "My son's got it down pretty good, so I'll just be teaching my daughter a little bit more."
