6 May – Janna Nick is elated that she is getting closer to achieving her dream of opening her own tahfiz school.
Speaking about the project recently, the actress said that the school, which is aptly named Kompleks Tahfiz & Anak Yatim Nurul Jannah, is currently in the planning process, and will be situated in Kampung Bukit Kechil, Simpor, Kedah.
"I hope everything will go as planned. I have long dreamed of owning my own tahfiz school and orphanage. Praise be to God, I didn't expect to be given the opportunity to work with the committee of the Kampung Bukit Kechil Mosque and the villagers there to develop the centre," she said.
The upcoming centre will be able to place students from standard one to six, with every class to have 25 students.
As to why she chose the said location, Janna said that it was where she grew up, and that
she trusts the committee who are mainly her own family members.
"For now, the amount we have spent was about RM400,000 that has been used to purchase an 8000 square metre of land. The whole project will cost around RM6 million. We only have RM500,000 for now. As soon as we reach RM2 million, we will begin construction," she said.
