Jamie Lynn Spears Celebrates Daughter Maddie's College Decision as She Recalls Being 'Watched and Judged' While Pregnant at 16

"My baby girl has committed to furthering her athletic & academic career at the University of Southern Miss!" the proud mom announced

Jamie Lynn Spears' little girl is growing up, and she's "all in my feels" over it.

On Monday, Nov. 25, the actress, 33, announced that her older daughter Maddie has committed to the University of Southern Mississippi to continue her academic and softball career. On Instagram, the proud mom shared her excitement for the 16-year-old as she recalled the judgment she received during her pregnancy with Maddie at the same age.

"All in my feels, bc my baby girl has committed to furthering her athletic & academic career at the University of Southern Miss!" Spears began in her caption. "I can remember it like it was just yesterday, as the whole world watched and judged as I made the choice to have my baby at 16 years old, fast fwd to today, and that same little baby girl is now 16 years old herself announcing that she will be going to play D1 ball for an amazing college."

The mom of two raved, "I feel like I can’t take much credit for anything, bc I have witnessed this kid go through, face, & overcome some impossible things by her own strong will, convictions, determination, & the sheer grace of God."

"I did everything I could to better myself in order to be the mama she deserved, & to break those generational curses, so they weren’t passed on to her or any future generations," she added. "I think her story is a true testament to trusting God’s will & being able to achieve whatever you’re willing to work hard for, and I couldn’t be more proud of her!"

"Love you, Maddie🤍🖤💛 GO EAGLES 🦅," Spears concluded her post.

Above her sentimental caption, Spears shared a variety of photos of Maddie throughout her softball career starting as a child, as well as an OK! Magazine cover story announcing the birth of Maddie 16 years ago.

Spears welcomed Maddie on June 19, 2008, with her then 19-year-old fiancé Casey Aldridge. She's also a mom to daughter Ivey Joan, 6, with her husband Jamie Watson.

On her Instagram Stories, Ivey can be seen rocking University of Southern Mississippi merch. "GO SISSY!!!!" Spears wrote over the sweet snap.
