Jamba smoothiesAs the summer heat is ramping up around the country, it’s the perfect time for an ice-cold smoothie — and with National Smoothie Day on Friday, June 21 chains around the country are offering plenty of cheap ways to celebrate and cool off.
In honor of the holiday, Jamba is selling 16 ounce smoothies for $1 in two different flavors: Mango-a-Go-Go and Strawberry Whirl Smoothie. To enjoy the deal, head into a Jamba location between 3 p.m. and 6 p.m. local time on June 21 — online orders and drive-thru don’t apply.
Jamba is also featuring a handful of new flavors for the summer. Watermelon Lemonade and Watermelon Tajin smoothies will be available through the beginning of September, or as long as they last.
A number of other popular smoothie spots will have enticing offers for National Smoothie Day as well — in most cases you do need to be a rewards member though.
Planet Smoothie is handing out free 20 ounce Lunar Lemonade smoothies from 2 p.m. until 5 p.m. on Friday. One free smoothie per customer will be available for all in-store orders.
At Smoothie King, in addition to their regularly scheduled Free Upsize Friday (which is a free upgrade from a 20 ounce size to a 32 ounce), Healthy Rewards members visiting the chain on Friday will get triple points on any order and be automatically entered into a $5,000 sweepstakes celebrating National Smoothie Day.
Smoothie King also has a series of deals for their members leading up to the holiday. On Wednesday, June 19, the chain is giving away free 12 oz. Blueberry Lemonade smoothies to all in-store customers enrolled in Healthy Rewards, and on Thursday, June 20 all members will get 15% off any order in honor of the first day of summer.

Similarly, Playa Bowls is handing out free color-changing cups with any smoothie order, but only to its Playa Rewards members.
Juice It Up! devotees are getting treated for the holiday, too: On National Smoothie Day, Juice It Up Rewards members can access an online coupon for $2 off any smoothie — including seasonal flavors like Strawberry Lemonade Twist, Passionfruit-Orange-Guava and Sandía Loca.
Smoothie chain Robeks will be releasing a new National Smoothie Day deal every hour on the hour on Instagram and Facebook on Friday, June 21, starting at 8 a.m. PT. Fans will have to move fast, as only a limited number of guests can unlock each giveaway code — including the opportunity to win free Robeks smoothies for a year.
And for those looking to celebrate National Smoothie Day with a boozy twist, smoothie supplier Outshine will be giving away Fruit Cocktail Kits on June 21. The kids has four Outshine Fruit & Yogurt Smoothie pouches, two cocktail glasses, a cocktail stirrer and a $25 gift card to purchase a drink of your choice. Customers can enter on the company's Instagram page @OutshineSnacks from now through Friday.

With the summer solstice on Thursday, June 20, smoothies aren’t the only deals to pay attention to this week: Krispy Kreme is giving out a dozen glazed donuts for $1 on the solstice, along with several other offers.
The supermarket chain Kroger is handing out 45,000 free pints of ice cream on the longest day of the year, too.
