Jake Gyllenhaal & Most Of ‘SNL’ Cast Skewers Southwest: “Want More Leg Room, Premium Food And Drink Services? Fly A Different Airline”

Most of the cast of Saturday Night Live took part in a takedown of Southwest, with Jake Gyllenhaal playing a frenzied customer who just wanted to change his flight.

Gyllenhaal — who was mistakenly referred to as Vaginal Cream — had to navigate through a series of operators who first assumed he just had missing luggage. As soon as they learned he switch flights, he was sent to someone who was even less helpful.

As he waited on the phone, recordings touted everything that’s wrong with Southwest. “Southwest doesn’t design seats. It’s just another way we’re making flying feel like riding a city bus” and “want more leg room and premium food and drink services? Fly a different airline.”

Several cast members took part in the takedown, including Mikey Day, Heidi Gardner, Chloe Fineman, Michael Longfellow, James Austin Johnson and Ego Nwodim, who accused Gyllenhaal’s character of being racist.

Eventually, Gyllenhaal is transferred to the grand pooh-bah at the airline — Bowen Yang dressed up as “south and west, north and east, of all directions, all destinations.”
