Jake Cuenca recognised by Broadway World
16 Jan – Jake Cuenca has recently been honoured with Best Actor by Broadway World - a global site for everything related to the stage.
As reported on Push, the actor shared the good news on Instagram recently, writing, "I couldn't ask for more in my theatrical debut. Thank you [Official Broadway World]. I am honoured to receive both awards."
It is noted that Cuenca was recognised for his performance in his one-act play, "Lungs".
Thanking his leading lady Isabella Jose, directors Andrei Nikolai Pamintuan and Caisa Borromeo and 9 Works Theatrical among others, he added, "Thank you for believing in me and giving me this opportunity. [And] of course the audience, you guys were amazing, you guys made every show special and unforgettable thank you for cheering M and W's relationship on. I'm thankful and blessed. On to the next play."
Aside from Best Actor, Broadway World also honoured Cuenca with Best Crossover Artist (Mainstream to Theater) for his aforementioned play, which had a two-week run beginning in September and ending in October.
It is noted that the site previously recognised Rachelle Ann Go as Best Actress for her performance in the West End production of "Hamilton".
