Even though Prime Day is taking place for many Amazon shoppers around the world this week, Canadians won't be able to celebrate the online shopping event right now — the retailer announced in May that Prime Day would be postponed due to the COVID-19 situation in Canada. To help ease the FOMO of endless savings (and free shipping!) we've gathered some of our favourite sales you can still shop on Amazon anyway.
One of our favourite sales on now is one of Amazon's hidden gems, the Iwoly cordless stick vacuum, on sale for $140.
SHOP IT: Amazon, $140 (originally $180)
What is it?
Iwoly vacuums have been popular go-to for Amazon shoppers thanks to their affordable price tag and high cleaning power. Now, the brand has updated their best-selling stick vacuum to create a cordless vacuum that delivers up to 30 minutes of cleaning life on a single charge.
The lightweight stick vacuum features advanced whole-machine filtration to capture dust and allergens while expelling clean air back into your home with LED lights to help you spot dirt and debris.
The Iwoly cordless vacuum comes with a detachable 2200 mAh battery and three suction modes (eco, normal and high). The vacuum includes three different attachment tools, a dusting brush, upholstery nozzle and crevice jobs to help you tackle different cleaning jobs around the house and a docking station for you to recharge your battery (takes up to five hours for a full charge).
What people are saying
As someone who owns a corded version of the Iwoly, I know first-hand how well these affordable vacuums work on hardwood, laminate and ceramic floors. While they aren't ideal for thick pile carpets, they can pick up debris on low-pile rugs and mats.
Iwoly vacuums are available in a 7-metre cord, but the new cordless version is ideal for taking on life's everyday messes without having to search for a nearby outlet.
So far, the cordless Iwoly has earned a 4.40-star rating from Amazon shoppers based on more than 80 reviews. Like me, shoppers are impressed with the Iwoly's cleaning power, especially on hard floors.
"This cordless vacuum cleaner has a strong suction that draw the dust and dirt even in the crevices of a hardwood floor," one shopper said. It is oddly satisfying to watch how the dirt from the surface is gone even on countertops when using this. It is convenient because it is cordless. You can go to every side of the house without worries. It's easy to charge and comes with a manual."
"I love this vacuum, it has a strong suction and will pick up from carpet and floor," another wrote. "The vacuum it self is lightweight, easy to use and the lights are great. I have carpet everywhere except for my kitchen and living room, and the battery lasts for the rest of the house."
Amazon shoppers have said that the Iwoly cordless vacuum isn't ideal for homes with lots of thick pile carpets and its 20 minute battery life on the strongest setting might not be best for tackling cleaning jobs in larger homes.
"I love the vacuum but doesn’t last very long. It would have been a 5/5 rating if I could plug it in a socket while using when the charge runs out," an Amazon shopper wrote. "Still great, especially for small spaces."
Iwoly vacuums are great for small spaces and homes with lots of hardwood or tiled floors. I like to use my Iwoly as a vacuum for my basement, since I don't like dragging a vacuum up and down the stairs from floor to floor while I clean. This affordable cordless version would be great to keep on different levels of your home or in your garage to easily tackle cleaning messes in your car.
My one regret when purchasing my Iwoly was not springing for a longer cord — but now I just might have to upgrade to the Iwoly cordless!
