Items Knocked Over on Shelves as 'Very Strong' Earthquake Hits Argentina

A magnitude 6.4 earthquake struck Argentina’s province of San Juan on Monday, January 18, according to the United States Geological Survey (USGS).

This video shows the quake shaking a living room, knocking over items on a shelf in a home in Cordoba, east of the San Juan epicentre. The source described the quake as “very strong”.

The USGS reported the earthquake hit at a depth of 20 kilometres at 11:46pm local time.
