Italian Volunteers Rescue Woman Trapped in Floodwaters in Syracuse, Sicily

Local volunteers rescued a woman driving through floodwaters in Syracuse, Sicily, on Wednesday, November 17, as severe weather hit the Italian region.

Footage filmed by the Sicilian Region’s Department of Civil Protection shows a rescue vehicle transporting the woman across gushing waters near Anapo River, they said.

“Honor to all the Civil Protection members who risk their lives every day without getting paid. Thank you!” the woman wrote in a Facebook post.
