Italian giants plot double summer swoop for ‘unbelievable’ Sheffield Utd star and former Man Utd target
AC Milan are reportedly looking into signing Sheffield United attacker Iliman Ndiaye, as well as former Manchester United target Marko Arnautovic.
The Blades were officially promoted back into the Premier League on Wednesday, and manager Paul Heckingbottom will no doubt do everything he can to keep his key players.
However, if AC Milan table a sizeable offer for Ndiaye, Sheff Utd could find it difficult to turn down. Arnautovic could potentially join him at the San Siro, too.
According to Football Italia, citing Foot Mercato, Milan are ‘tracking’ Ndiaye and could make a bid for him this summer.
The Nigeria international has been a vital player for the Blades this season, scoring 13 goals and making eight assists in 42 Championship appearances.
Sheff Utd will, inevitably, do everything they can to keep hold of Ndiaye. But, the dynamic forward’s contract set to expire in 2024.
Therefore, they could be forced into selling him this summer to avoid him leaving on a free contract.
Unless, of course, the Blades can tie him down to fresh terms.

Heckingbottom hails ‘unbelievable’ Ndiaye
Blades boss Heckingbottom would certainly love to have Ndiaye at his disposal in the Premier League, after showing his quality this season.
The coach heaped praise on the 23-year-old in March, after scoring a memorable goal against Tottenham in the FA Cup.
“I am going to talk and sound as if I am biased. But you know what I think of Iliman as a player,” Heckingbottom said.
“He can do it against anyone – handling the ball in tight areas at the top end of the pitch where the best players do damage. He’s got all that.
“Playing in the Championship doesn’t mean players don’t handle the ball any better. He’s unbelievable with the ball and not many Premier League players can do what he does with the ball.”
With that in mind, it’s no surprise to see clubs like Milan in the race for Ndiaye’s signature.
As well as them, relegation-threatened Everton still hold an interest in the attacker, after coming close to signing him in January.
AC Milan target Marko Arnautovic
According to a separate report from Football Italia, Milan could look to bring in Arnautovic, as well as Ndiaye this summer.
The former Stoke City and West Ham forward, who currently plays for Bologna, was linked with a shock move to Man Utd at the start of the season.
Since, though, Arnuatovich has only made three Serie A appearances for Thiago Motta’s side in 2023, with his relationship with the manager described as ‘difficult.’
Milan have not approached Bologna yet. However, they are ‘confident a deal would be accessible.’
It is believed that Rosonneri manager Stefano Piolo is plotting a revamp of his attack this summer. Olivier Giroud has been his only real prolific striker, while Divock Origi and Ante Rebic have disappointed.
Zlatan Ibrahimovic will also depart the San Siro on a free transfer at the end of the season. As a result, it wouldn’t be a surprise to see Milan sign at least two new attackers in the coming months.
