Isabella Strahan Celebrates Her Birthday 6 Months Late After She Missed It During Brain Surgery

Isabella Strahan was hospitalized for an emergency craniotomy during her 19th birthday in October

Michael Strahan's daughter Isabella Strahan is having a birthday redo while at home in between chemotherapy treatments for her brain tumor.

On May 28, the 19-year-old student and model posted the latest installment of her YouTube series, where she's been sharing her health journey after having emergency surgery in October 2023 to remove a large medulloblastoma — a type of malignant tumor — in her cerebellum.

In the vlog, Isabella is at her New York City home resting after undergoing her third round of chemotherapy. Alongside her friend Dallas and twin sister Sophia, she films herself baking cupcakes, hoping to re-celebrate her 19th birthday.

Isabella and Sophia’s birthday is October 28. However, Isabella was hospitalized at the time due to her emergency craniotomy.

“We’re doing a little birthday celebration because I was not conscious for my 19th birthday,” she said with a laugh. “So we’re doing a little birthday thing about six months later.”

Isabella and Sophia sang “Happy Birthday” to themselves and blew out the candle on their cupcakes before their dad Michael Strahan came and gave them a big hug.

The vlog also included a clip from Isabella’s first brain surgery in October 2023. She opened up about the moment in her very first vlog post in January.

In the clip, her family and friends decorated her hospital room with balloons, flowers and birthday signs. They all sang “Happy Birthday” to her with a cake as she laid unconscious after surgery.

The model admitted that she doesn’t remember everything about her first hospitalization, relying on her family and friends to fill in the gaps about her experience.

“It’s super sweet to see how much people care and I think that was a big thing [for my recovery],” she said at the time.

Isabella has since undergone radiation, three brain surgeries and three rounds of chemotherapy.

In her May 21 vlog, she shared her excitement because she only has one more round of chemotherapy left.

“I just want it to be June already,” she said. “That’s the thing, I just wait around for the next time I get chemo and I’m kind of scared once I’m done, how I’m gonna go back to normal life. Because I feel like there’s always gonna be another treatment or something I have to do. But that’s a later problem.”

“Otherwise, I’m doing good,” she added.

Since her diagnosis, Isabella has been documenting her health journey on YouTube to benefit Duke Children's Hospital & Health Center.
