Irreverent dropped on Peacock in 2022 and followed a criminal from Chicago who must pose as a reverend in a small Australian coastal town to hide his true identity.

Macrae is currently in development on his original four-part drama series, The Wild, along with several other original projects.

He began his career in television as a full-time assistant to Tony Ayres in scripted development at Matchbox Pictures, working across projects including The Family Law (ABC Australia), Glitch (ABC Australia/Netflix), Seven Types of Ambiguity (ABC Australia), and Barracuda (ABC Australia/BBC). He script edited the second season of Wanted.

Said Macrae, “It’s such a joy to be teaming up with Rain Management with whom I feel a deeply shared passion for ambitious stories. Screen Australia’s Talent USA program allowed me to travel to meet with Rain and I feel so energized to get to work on this next international stage of my career.”
