On Tuesday, Dr. Anthony S. Fauci, CDC Director Robert Redfield, ADM Brett Giroir, and FDA Commissioner Stephen Hahn all gathered for a virtual Senate hearing to discuss plans for getting the country back to work and kids back to school (you can watch the full hearing here). Throughout the hearing, Fauci warned of the consequences of prematurely reopening the economy. However, as the meeting progressed, Fauci starting trending on Twitter for something other than his remarks on public health: Viewers started tweeting about the room that 79-year-old was broadcasting from—his home office.
Look behind Fauci and you'll notice shelves packed with books, paper piles on his desk, framed photos on the wall, and even more books stacked on the floor. Peek out his window and you'll even see that he has accumulated some plant babies.

Overall, the office is simple and nothing too wild—definitely no sign of Amazon Alexa here. His uncomplicated space proves that you don't always need the latest in technology or design to create the perfect home office.
Dr. Anthony Fauci may have run out of room in his bookcase for all his books, but the man is doing pretty well for himself career-wise. Here's what some members of the Twitterverse had to say.
For some, this is what they expected all along.
Fauci‘s office is just as I pictured it. Books stacked everywhere, a worn Oriental rug, office equipment scattered about. A bit of a mess, but of course he is impeccably dressed and groomed as always. pic.twitter.com/vIYxY8GJI6— Meegan Holland (@Meholland) May 12, 2020
Others recall owning the CD player he still has.
Fauci's home office is exactly as I imagine it would be and it's sorta delightful. Pretty sure I had that tape deck/CD player on his shelf in middle school— CeciliaKang (@ceciliakang) May 12, 2020
We stan the styles of the '90s!
I would characterize Fauci's home office as 90s professorial. Stacks of books, potted plants outside, CD player, paper everywhere, persian rug— Jaimy Lee (@jaimy_lee) May 12, 2020
The office of a working man.
Unlike all those invariably beautiful, enormous and incredibly tidy bookshelves everyone seems to own, Dr Fauci's looks like an actual home office.— Ava (@avavroche) May 12, 2020
@ratemyskyperoom, a Twitter account dedicated to rating video call backgrounds in people's houses, even evaluated Fauci's home office.
Some users tried to imagine how Fauci spends his time in the office when he's not virtually broadcasting to the entire nation.
I picture Fauci wheeling around his office on his chair referencing medical books from every corner, piecing together knowledge from the pages, while talking loudly to someone who’s on speaker, as a normal day in his office book-filled office. pic.twitter.com/FFpwginZRW— Kimberly York (@kimkinetic) May 12, 2020
Other's found comfort in knowing that Fauci has just as many books as they do.
Indeed the Twitterverse LOVED seeing all his books.
And also his clutter (if you consider that clutter).
anyone else happy to see that Fauci's home office looks semi cluttered like theirs? asking for a friend— KevinGHall (@KevinGHall) May 12, 2020
But, of course there's always that one guy...
who's the dude hanging out at fauci's office? pic.twitter.com/Zxj3UbouIH— Oliver Willis (@owillis) May 12, 2020
Oh, wait for it... 😅
It's only a matter of time before we see an entire article dedicated to Fauci's office aesthetic— John Haltiwanger (@jchaltiwanger) May 12, 2020
