International Women’s Day (IWD) is an annual, global celebration of women.
The event, which takes place on 8 March, sees men and women alike unite to help create a gender-equal world.
Each year a new theme is set, 2020’s is #EachforEqual, highlighting how our individual actions can have an impact on society.
Over the year, numerous brands have created charitable collections for IWD, where proceeds go to disadvantaged women around the world - and 2020 is no different.
Net-A-Porter has launched its third partnership with Women for Women International, where 100% of the profits will go to the charity that helps women living in war-torn countries to rebuild their lives.
The capsule collection is made up of 20 exclusive T-shirts, each designed by coveted brands and female designers.
Recognisable names include Stella McCartney, Alexa Chung, Isabel Marant, Jimmy Choo and Charlotte Tilbury, while there are also plenty of upcoming contemporary brands in the mix such as Staud, Ganni and Cecilie Bahnsen.
Each T-shirt reflects the designer’s personal interpretation of women’s empowerment and strength.
McCartney’s features an illustration from her autumn/winter 2019 that evokes a sense of sisterhood, while Marant’s bold “You Go Girl!” slogan has been designed to motivate women.
Net-A-Porter’s successful charitable collections in 2018 and 2019 have already raised enough to support over 300 women through the charity’s year-long training program.
So, if you want to give back this International Women’s Day, purchase one of these stylish tees that you can wear proudly on March 8 and long after.
