An intense hail storm battered Arlington, Texas, on Thursday, March 16, as a severe storm cell swept through the Dallas-Fort Worth Metropolitan Area.

This footage, filmed by Twitter user @Pantallideth1, shows hail stones pummelling a residential area in Arlington.

The National Weather Service (NWS) issued a severe thunderstorm warning and a tornado watch for the region as funnel clouds were spotted over Dallas-Fort Worth.

According to energy provider Oncor, nearly 8,000 customers were without power on Thursday evening as a result of the storm.
