An intense storm bringing large amounts of hail followed a tornado watch in parts of central Texas on Wednesday, March 24.
On Wednesday afternoon, the National Weather Service issued a tornado watch through 10pm for areas including Goldthwaite, judging that hail “up to apple size” was likely.
“Multiple discrete supercells are expected, initially across central Texas where the relatively greatest threat should exist for very large hail and a couple tornadoes,” the NWS wrote in a tweet.
