When will Brainiac bring his bean to Superman & Lois? Is there High Potential for a hook-up on ABC hit? Is HBO pondering a purrrr-fect follow-up to The Penguin? Read on for answers to those questions and others! (You can and should email any brand-new Qs to InsideLine@tvline.com.)
Is the NCIS: Origins Christmas episode going to be more on the festive side, or on the classic NCIS mysterious-and-dark side? –Shirley
Thank you for sending in this question for NCIS: Origins star Austin Stowell’s recent visit to TVLine. Now, I could just tell you his answer, but surely you’d rather hear him address you by name, in the video above. Bonus scoop: Gibbs shows off some woodworking skills in the next episode (airing Nov. 25), though you probably can’t guess what it is he makes.

Can you give a hint about which Superman & Lois episode Milton/Brainiac shows up? –Klaus
Oh, I can give you more than a hint — I can give you an episode number (4×08) and an airdate (Nov. 18).
Now that Brilliant Minds‘ Wolf and Nichols have kissed, what can we expect from their possible relationship? –Leonardo
This week’s episode ended with Oliver taking that huge leap — and I am hearing it is only the beginning. The two have been quick to butt heads when it comes to patients, but this new development in their dynamic is bound to switch up things up as well as lead to some surprising conversations with each other and the people around them.
Is there anything you can give away about Bodiela’s new dynamic on Fire Country? Also, will we get to understand more of Audrey’s real purpose in upcoming episodes? –Sophia
This Friday — after a tiny time jump that has Smokey’s back up and running — it becomes clear that Airstream hook-ups have become a regular thing for Bode and Gabriela. Cam they keep their FWB arrangement on the down low and hide the fact that Gaby now lives in the trailer? And are both parties 100% satisfied with their “new normal”? Stay tuned! As for Audrey, one of her purposes apparently is to sing! “Leven Rambin has musical talents, so we’re going to see Audrey singing on our show,” showrunner Tia Napolitano told me. In fact, Jamesy’s talent seems to transfix one of the Edgewater men at the close of this week’s episode.
Any scoop on Fire Country? –Caio
I’m hearing that this season we will meet Sharon’s stepfather, whose secret marijuana-growing operation puts him at odds with daughter Mickey — the Edgewater sheriff (played by Morena Baccarin) who’s getting her own spinoff next TV season. As such, don’t be surprised to see dope grower Dad continue onto Sheriff Country once that offshoot launches.
Instead of The Penguin Season 2, is there any talk of a Selina Kyle/Catwoman series with Zoë Kravitz that does a similar deep dive? –Carm
In a word, “No,” per HBO and Max CEO and Chairman Casey Bloys. Rather than try a TV series about another character from Matt Reeves’ The Batman, Bloys says, “We’ve been talking mostly about: Is there another story with The Penguin?” — though Reeves needs to get The Batman II done first. “I have to let him get that movie set up and moving. But [Matt and Penguin showrunner Lauren LeFranc] work really well together,” Bloys notes, “so hopefully they’ll find something that they think is exciting.”
Any release date for Season 2 of Surface at Apple? –Patrick
I am currently hearing that you can expect the psychological thriller — which dropped its finale well over two years ago — to return this winter, in early 2025.
Longtime reader, second-time asker. Loving Lioness Season 2 but dying to know what Cruz is up to. Potentially plotting revenge against Joe, held captive by a scarred-and-throaty for revenge Aaliyah? –Holly
There is not a lot of love lost between Cruz and Joe, to be clear. But in this Sunday’s episode, Cruz — after offering Josie her two cents on the Lioness gig — frankly impresses her former boss by proposing a twist to the Los Tigres takedown mission that will either prove to be brilliant… or instantly dangerous.
Any new info on Danielle Savre’s Found character? Considering that Michael Cassidy’s Christian is Sir’s brother, I’m betting that she’s another member of the Evans family — maybe their deceased mother in flashback scenes. –Clara
Mum is still the word on the Station 19 alum’s Found character, who won’t appear for a while yet. But showrunner Nkechi Okoro Carroll did note this about Savre and Cassidy’s castings: “All the characters we’ve introduced are here for multiple-episode arcs. Looking for the missing ones that the world has deemed disposable will always remain the heart of the show, and our series regular characters and their personal drive with that mission continues to be the center of everything. The guest cast elevate the stories, and expand some of our more soapy, serialized elements.”
Any word on when High Potential might put Morgan and Karadec together? –Sarah
Funny you should mention those two. On the heels of High Potential‘s wild fall finale, TVLine asked showrunner Todd Harthan about that very possibility. “There’s a scene in the midseason premiere [airing Tuesday, Jan. 7] that really speaks to what these two people mean to each other and how we’re going to evolve that relationship moving forward,” showrunner Harthan says. “That’s the one where the audience will go, ‘I’m rooting for these two, whether it’s a romantic interest or not. I just love them together.’”
Anything on Chicago Fire‘s fall finale (airing this Wednesday)? —Geoff
Great ready to “Awww!” and possibly laugh when Carver takes care of a dog whose owner was injured on a call. “There are definitely aspects that I think are comedic, for sure,” Jake Lockett tells TVLine. “As anyone who’s ever worked with a dog knows, it can be a fun experience.” But more importantly, it’s also a healing one for the troubled firefighter. “I think it’s another opportunity for Carver to, in a human way, move through his emotions,” Lockett says.
I’ve not seen anything about a Season 6 of The Oval. Is there going to be one? There’s been no word on that show or on Ruthless. –Nancy
Oh, The Oval was renewed way back in April; as for Ruthless, it finale’d barely two months ago, so a bit soon to sound any alarms.
I love Beth and Monica’s friendship on Yellowstone. Do we get any of that this season? —Avrie
In fact, we do. In Season 5B of the Paramount Network hit (airing Sundays at 8/7c), “they’ve got some great scenes together,” Kelsey Asbille tells TVLine. “It’s always a joy working with Kelly Reilly. I love the Beth/Monica relationship so much. Beth’s got Monica’s back. I mean, anyone would want Beth in their corner! So she feels that love. She’s #TeamBeth, just to be clear!”
I recently asked about the bonus episode of Yellowjackets. Even with some social media promotion for Season 3, we have yet to hear anything about the “missing episode.” Is this a dead thought now? –Oliver
We ask, and we ask… and nada, still. Curious!
We get so many scoops on TV shows but never on Matt. What is a scoop from Matt Webb Mitovich’s world? –Mike
I think I may upgrade my pickleball paddle this weekend. (Also, if this is Ausiello, you know you can just Slack me, right?)
