Catherine, Duchess of Cambridge, is just like most moms: busy, dedicated, and lovingly stern when she has to be.

In a new story per People, a source close to Kate detailed the inner workings of her life as not just a duchess and queen consort-to-be, but, most importantly, as a mother raising her three children, Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis, as normally as possible.

The friend described the Cambridge home as "a normal, busy family home with kids running around and knocking things over. There's no airs and graces." The source also described Kate as "very chilled at home."

As for managing and disciplining her little ones, however, the duchess reportedly isn't a "pushover," nor is she afraid to use a little tough love.

"When you see her behind closed doors with the children, she's a very confident mom, and she's no pushover," the source continued. "The children get told off if they act up."

And though Kate is known for her flawless beauty looks, according to the source, the duchess keeps it casual when she's in between royal engagements and working to get her children off to school every day.

"There are no blow-dries—it's always hair up in a ponytail," said the friend. "She's either in her gym clothes, or a dress and sneakers, very little makeup, apologizing as she's late for the school run before dashing off. It's the life of a working mom with three young children—just a different sort of day job to most."
