Ever since The Inside released its collaboration with legendary fabric house Scalamandré in 2019, we've been waiting to see what the brand would do next. And now, just over a year later—and after roughly six months of conceptualizing and designing—the company is unveiling its newest collection: a collaboration with Old World Weavers. The launch is part of the brand's continued mission to make historic design and high style more accessible to customers, and the collection is full of must-haves.

Old World Weavers, if you need a refresher, is another iconic luxury textile brand, launched in 1950 by Iris Apfel. Like its founder, the globally-inspired brand is known for not shying away from bold colors and unique prints. And it's precisely this style that inspired The Inside to make this collaboration happen.

"Old World Weavers' sense for the art of the mix is profoundly sophisticated," The Inside's founder Christiane Lemieux tells House Beautiful. "Iris Apfel is absolutely a muse of ours, but it really comes down to Old World Weavers' continued ability to draw on a whole bunch of erudite sources and come up with an incredible mix. The collection draws in natural elements, really interesting botanicals, the iconic tiger print—all the things that inspire us. So when we got to look into their archives, we went bananas and knew they were the perfect partners."

Lemieux also noted that Apfel's well-known personal style also fits The Inside's #beyondthebeige mission, which inspires people to infuse color and personality into their homes. "I mean, who is more 'Beyond the Beige' than Iris?" she asks. "She's completely unfiltered and lives her life authentically, and I think there’s nothing less beige than that. She creates things that make her happy, without necessarily following all the rules."

The collection includes both current Old World Weavers patterns and the brand's archival prints, so there's a wide variety of styles showcased in just this one collab. "You get this beautiful mix of time periods and global influence," Lemieux says. "It all started with Iris, and continues with their incredible team who’s working tirelessly to develop beautiful new fabrics today."

With a collection this statement-making, it's almost impossible to pick a favorite piece. But there's one pattern that Lemieux personally loves: The Grisailles Siberian Tiger print. "It references so many things I love," she says. "It combines a floral and a botanical, and the tiger makes it conversational, so it almost checks every box—and does it so stylishly." As for how she'd use the print in her own home, she adds, "There are very few places where you couldn’t have a little bit of a Siberian Tiger accent. Personally, I’d opt for a pair of ottomans in front of my fireplace."

Of course, this isn't all The Inside has to offer. According to Lemieux, more collections and new pieces are on their way. "We are in talks with one of our favorite American design houses to explore future collaborations, and have a few exciting category expansions on the horizon," she says—so stay tuned!
