Inland Homes today demonstrated confidence in the London residential market as it revealed three new site purchases.

The housebuilder said it as has secured sites in Barking and Dagenham where there is scope to create over 800 new homes. It plans to lodge proposals in the first half of 2021.

The sites are 4.5 acres, 1.75 acres and one acre.

The developer added that it has also submitted plans for new projects in Staines and Basildon.

Stephen Wicks, chief executive of brownfield developer Inland Homes, said: “Working with build to rent funds, housing associations as well as providing homes for sale at the affordable end of the market, we have strong demand [for homes].”

A number of companies this year have been on land buying sprees, including Taylor Wimpey which recently bought a site in Hackney Wick where it is planning 145 homes.

The housebuilder in June said that disruption in the market as result of the Covid- 19 pandemic had created “short term opportunities to acquire land from a broad range of sources at attractive returns and prices below pre-Covid-19 levels”.

In August Bellway said it had “cautiously” resumed land buying, encouraged by the improved sales market.
