Injuries Reported During Myanmar Protest as Police Respond

Several people were injured when police fired rubber bullets at a protest in Myaungmya on February 16, Frontier Myanmar reported.

Approximately 150 people had gathered outside a prison in the southern Myanmar town to protest the arrest of a local primary school headmaster, the report said.

Anti-military protests continued around the country on Tuesday, as the trial of ousted leader Aung San Suu Kyi started. She faces a new charge under the country’s natural disaster management law.
