Indonesia’s Mount Merapi continued to spew smoke and ash on Sunday, March 12, after an eruption the previous day forced authorities to halt tourism and mining activities in the area.

Footage posted by BPPTKG, the geological disaster institute of Indonesia, shows lava spewing from the volcano.

Local media said said people living outside the hazard zone were advised to take precautionary measures in case of further eruptions. Credit: Storyful
