Individual in custody after call about barricaded person in village of McGregor, OPP say
A 39-year-old individual is in custody after a Monday morning report of a barricaded person in the village of McGregor in the Town of Essex, Ontario Provincial Police say.
The report came in around 1:18 a.m., according to Sgt. Ed Sanchuk, who provided the information in a video posted on X, formerly known as Twitter.
The incident took place on Parkside Drive and resulted in the closure of Parkside at Maple Drive, Sanchuk said.
Crisis negotiators, first response team members and paramedics joined OPP at the scene.
There was no threat to public safety, Sanchuk said.
