India reopens elephant safari

Authorities in Kaziranga National Park, a World Heritage Site, resumed the safari services for 37 tourists at a time, adhering to current COVID-19 safety protocols.

The forest officials, along with elephant trainers, performed a small ceremony for an auspicious start to the safari.

The first batch of tourists were taken on the one-hour ride through the forest which is home to the endangered one-horned Indian rhinoceros.
