KUALA LUMPUR, June 27 — India’s dance king Prabhu Deva will be in town for a dance concert on September 9.

In a statement, organiser DMY Creation announced that the one-night show, titled Prabhu Deva’s The Next Step, is set to take place at the Kuala Lumpur Stadium in Cheras.

DMY Creation founder Datuk Mohamed Yusoff said local dancers could participate in an online contest for a chance to perform with Prabhu during the concert.

The organiser said the list of entries for the contest is being finalised and the winners will be announced soon.

“Through this concert, local dancers will be given a dream opportunity to perform with Prabhu Deva live on stage.”

Mohamed said the company is always on the lookout for new unique ways to escalate entertainment experiences and bring memories that create a sense of joy and meaning to the society.

“The goal of DMY Creation is to inspire as many youths as we can in Malaysia who have a passion for this form of art.

“Dance is something that transmits through culture, emotions, tells stories and can be a testimony of a historical moment.”

Deva’s name in the entertainment industry stands synonymous with dance.

Many well-known dancers and choreographers in India have come out to say how the dance king has played an influential role in their careers.

The dancer-turned-actor will be performing with a host of celebrities including dancers and actors from the Tamil movie industry.

Tickets for the concert will go on sale here starting June 30, and early bird prices will range from RM88 to RM388 in three main categories.
