India aims to reunite leopard cub with mother

STORY: Workers in Gariaband district spotted the cub, which had strayed from a forested area.

It's estimated to be up to a month-and-a-half old.

Forest officials cordoned off the area to make the mother feel safe and encourage it to take the cub back to the jungle.

In 2020, India's environment ministry counted 12,852 leopards, a 60% rise from the previous census in 2014.
