I don’t need to tell you I’m dehydrated right now; you can see it on my skin. My fine lines are more apparent than usual, my foundation looks a bit crusty — in a word, my skin looks sullen. If I were required to look a bit more alive, I’d reach for a serum loaded with hyaluronic acid — though, admittedly, I’m picky with my formulas, my favorite of which is a few hundred dollars. I’ve yet to find a non-sticky, skin-plumping hyaluronic acid serum at a more palatable price point, though after stumbling upon the Meebak Hyaluronic Acid Serum, which is $18 on sale at Amazon, I may have a strong contender.

The Meebak Hyaluronic Acid Serum is a lightweight, ultra-hydrating solution for dry or generally tired-looking skin. The formula contains mini moisture capsules that burst once applied; each is filled with quenching hyaluronic acid. Immediately, the serum adds bounciness to even the thirstiest faces, and a visible dewy glow that enlivens dull skin. Ideal for all skin types, people with sensitive skin will appreciate that it contains ingredients chosen specifically for their soothing superpowers.

Most salient among the skin-soothing ingredients is centella asiatica, aka cica for short, or tiger grass. The ingredient is known to calm redness and soothe inflammation, and is found in many excellent Korean beauty products. Also featured is vitamin C, a skin-brightener that mitigates discoloration due to hyperpigmentation, in turn bestowing a more even-toned glow. Plus, vitamin C provides antioxidant protection against environmental skin-agers, like pollution, to maintain a youthful look for longer.

Finally, this serum features its titular ingredient, hyaluronic acid — a moisture-giving, skin-plumping molecule responsible for the aforementioned dewiness the serum induces. By virtue of its quenching properties, hyaluronic acid can fade the appearance of fine lines almost instantly. When skin is moisture-sapped, it’s more prone to appearing withered, and fine lines can appear more prominent than on skin that’s been quenched by the likes of hyaluronic acid.

Case in point: One shopper reported that the fine lines beneath their eyes appeared “less noticeable” in just days after applying the serum. Another reviewer said “the lightweight and non-greasy formula… absorbs quickly into the skin, leaving no residue or sticky feeling behind.” (As someone who has pushed aside many hyaluronic acid serums due to sticky dry-down, this is a huge selling point for me.) Other shoppers rave that applying it feels like a “mini spa day” thanks to the nice scent, and that it generally makes skin “feel healthy and so nice.” “This serum has made a significant difference for my skin; it feels intensely hydrated and plump,” a final shopper emphasized.

For a lightweight, dewiness-inducing hyaluronic acid hydrating serum hailing from a Korean beauty brand, snag the Meebak Hyaluronic Acid Serum while it’s on sale at Amazon for a limited time.
