KUALA LUMPUR, June 2 — The local organiser of K-pop band iKON’s concert next month has come under fire from fans for its exorbitant ticket prices that do not match the venue.

Taking to the organiser My Event International’s social media page, fans complained the price charged was not fair when the concert is only held at the Mines International Exhibition & Convention Centre (MIECC).

Instagram user with the handle @aaasyikinnn_ said the price charged was akin to a stadium venue.

“Pity those who bought tickets at the back. What can they see? Most probably the hair,” she wrote.

Fellow Instagram user @suffinursyamila demands better benefits for the VIP seatings.

“We are not gonna pay RM1,000 plus just for the show and soundcheck,” she said, suggesting those who bought the VIP tickets be given early entry, group photo, lanyard, autograph albums or merchandise and pictures.

@athirahhaniss said the organiser should consider changing the venue due to the price charged, proposing Axiata Arena in Bukit Jalil.

Fans started bombarding the organiser’s social media page as soon as they announced the ticket prices ranging between RM308 and RM1,088.

Tickets for the July 22 event will go on sale from tomorrow, June 3, while the pre-sale for Malaysians fans starts today where buyers will enjoy a 5 per cent discount for all categories.

The last time the group performed in Malaysia was in 2018.
