Ice Spice's Cherry Cola Curls Are the Ultimate Winter Hair Transformation
She did it first.
Tis the season for celebrity hair transformations. While beloved A-listers are bound to take their locks a bit lighter and embrace their natural beachy waves in the summer, the colder months often present a variety of bolder, more experimental new 'dos. For Julia Roberts, it was a shaggy, caramel-blonde bob. Meanwhile, for Angelina Jolie, it was a mane of bronde curls full of va-va-voom volume. As temperatures drop and the end of the year nears, Ice Spice has debuted not one, but two major hair changes.
The "Did it First" rapper displayed striking inky-black curls while stepping out for the Victoria's Secret Fashion Show last month. She changed things up once again this morning when she took to Instagram to share a photo dump of recent events, in which fans couldn't help but notice she took her locks from jet black to maroon. She showed off a fresh set of tight, short curls in a deep cherry-cola red.
The cover slide sees the Grammy-nominated artist posing for a sultry selfie, while another slide shows her posing backstage in a tiny black crop top and metallic-blue hot pants. She also included several photos and videos of herself performing on stage.
"London ❤️ birmingham ❤️ brussels ❤️," she captioned the post, referring to the cities in which she held shows.
The New York native's fresh look serves as a stark contrast to her trademark auburn curls, which she wore when she was first launched into superstardom. For the past few months, Ice Spice traded her deep-orange hair for long, straight, pumpkin spice tresses.
The artist opened up about her iconic ginger hair while speaking to Kiss Fresh: "Growing up and stuff, I did blonde and brown and black, but I never did ginger, so, I don't know, I just love it. I'm kind of stuck with it for a little bit, and I'm just happy it's a good color that I like. I feel like it goes well with a lot of things. It's just so cutesy."
