Hurricane Olaf Brings Strong Winds and Stormy Seas to Baja California

A hurricane warning was in effect for parts of Mexico’s Baja California Sur as Hurricane Olaf made landfall on the state’s southern coastline on Thursday, September 9.

This footage shows intense winds in San Jose del Cabo, a resort city on the southern tip of the Baja California peninsula.

Olaf made landfall “very near San Jose del Cabo” at around 9 pm local time, bringing estimated maximum sustained winds of 100 mph, according to the National Hurricane Center (NHC).
