Louisiana woman Brandi Bauer bore witness to the destructive power of Hurricane Laura when she inspected the damage inflicted on her Sulphur home on August 31.
In this video, Bauer walks through her house, surveying the collapsed ceilings and sludge-covered floors. She had purchased the house as her first home in 2019, she told Storyful.
However, she said that she was one of the lucky residents, adding that her “house has minimal damage compared to others in the area.”
“A lot of people in the neighborhood have been affected. Many have trees through their houses or missing roofs.”
The Louisiana National Guard was deployed to the Lake Charles area to distribute emergency supplies such as food and water following Hurricane Laura, which swept through the region in the early hours of August 27.
