Hurricane Ida Causes Widespread Damage Across New Orleans Metro Area

Widespread damage from Hurricane Ida was reported across the New Orleans metro area on Monday, August 30. Evacuated Louisiana residents were instructed to stay away while emergency crews dealt with debris amid new flash flood and tornado warnings.

This footage filmed by Mike’s Weather Page shows extensive debris across Kenner and LaPlace. Downed power lines are seen in both communities while drone footage shows fire damage in Kenner and flooding in LaPlace.

According to officials, more than a dozen fires were reported throughout the city of Kenner, local media reported.
