Hunter Biden Found Guilty in Gun Case, Faces Up to 25 Years in Prison
Hunter Biden has been charged with three felony counts tied to a handgun purchase in 2018, and faces up to 25 years in prison and $750,000 in fines.
All major TV networks broke into regularly scheduled programming with the verdict shortly after 11 am ET. You can watch ABC News’ report above.

According to The New York Times, President Joe Biden’s son was found guilty of lying on a federal firearms application in 2018, saying that he was not using or addicted to drugs at the time of the purchase.
Hunter, who has long been forthcoming about his addiction to cocaine, is now sober.
The guilty verdict comes as his father enters the final months of his reelection campaign, and two weeks after the Republican challenger for the White House, former President Donald Trump, was found guilty on all 34 felony counts in his hush money trial.
Just last week, President Biden told ABC News’ David Muir that he would accept the verdict and would not attempt to pardon Hunter. (According to the Times, “first-time offenders who did not use their weapons to commit a violent crime typically receive no jail time.”)
“As I said last week, I am the President, but I am also a Dad,” POTUS reiterated in a statement Tuesday. “Jill and I love our son, and we are so proud of the man he is today. So many families who have had loved ones battle addiction understand the feeling of pride seeing someone you love come out the other side and be so strong and resilient in recovery. As I also said last week, I will accept the outcome of this case and will continue to respect the judicial process as Hunter considers an appeal. Jill and I will always be there for Hunter and the rest of our family with our love and support. Nothing will ever change that.”
Biden and Trump will soon meet for the first debate of the 2024 election cycle, to be held on Thursday, June 27, and air on CNN. Jake Tapper and Dana Bash will moderate.
