Hundreds protest UK lockdown extension in London
According to the owner of the video, around 500 protesters attended the rally, which lasted until late afternoon.
Johnson on Monday evening announced that rules on social distancing will continue until at least July 19, instead of ending on June 21 as previously established, warning that thousands more people might die because of the rapid spread of the more infectious Delta variant.
On Monday, Britain recorded 7,742 new COVID-19 cases and three deaths. Johnson said the number of cases was growing by about 64% per week and the number of people in hospitals' intensive care units was rising.
