Hundreds of demonstrators gathered in Washington’s Chinatown on March 17 to march in solidarity after eight people, six of whom were of Asian descent, were killed in Atlanta a day prior.
The vigil and march were organized by Total Liberation Collective, a “predominantly Black, non-hierarchical organization dedicated to the abolition of all structures of oppression that impede total liberation.”
According to local news reports, 3,800 incidents of anti-Asian racism, mainly against women, occurred in the United States over the last year.
