Hundreds of Drivers Stuck for Hours on I-95 in Virginia
Hundreds of vehicles were left stranded on a snowy Interstate 95 in Fredericksburg, Virginia, for hours into early January 4, due to what the Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT) reported as “disabled vehicles and downed trees”.
VDOT said I-95 was closed between exits 152 and 104. Earlier, VDOT said there had been a number of “major incidents” involving “disabled or crashed tractor-trailers”.
Early on January 4, they said crews were working “to remove stopped trucks, treat for icing, and plow snow.”
Multiple drivers – see here and here, for instance – reported being stuck on I-95 for several hours.
