Hundreds defy COVID rules partying at Paris park

A crowd of around 300 people danced and cheered under the warm sun as electronic music blasted from a loudspeaker in the capital's Buttes-Chaumont park during the party, which some have deemed to be "improvised."

"I think people are just telling themselves, 'Actually, we don't care. We'll do as we please, we're careful with the masks on and all that,'" partygoer Giovanni said.

On Monday, French government spokesman Gabriel Attal said an investigation is underway to find out whether the party is improvised or if it had been organized by a certain group of people.

He said organizers, if there are any, will be prosecuted.
