Hugh Grant has spoken about his friendship with Bridget Jones costar Renée Zellweger, saying that she is "one of the few actresses" he hasn't fallen out with.
During a recent interview on SiriusXM's The Jess Cagle Show, The Undoing star spoke about his long-running friendship with Renée Zellweger, who he starred alongside in Bridget Jones' Diary and the sequel, The Edge of Reason.
"I love Renée," he explained. "She's one of the few actresses I haven't fallen out with, and, we, we got on very well together and, we still exchange long emails.
"Hers in particular, at least 70 pages each, interesting stuff, but quite hard to decipher," he joked. "She's a properly good egg and a genius. Did you see her Judy Garland? About as good as acting gets."
Previously, Grant has spoken about former female costars saying that he was not historically well liked. Speaking to Elle in 2009 he mentioned Julianne Moore whom he starred alongside in the hit 1995 film Nine Months, saying, "'Brilliant actress. Loathes me."
Elsewhere in the interview he also mentioned About a Boy costar Rachel Weisz, saying that she is "clever and beautiful" and "despises" him.
Elsewhere in the SiriusXM interview he went into detail about his role as Daniel Cleaver in Bridget Jones' Diary and Bridget Jones: The Edge of Reason, explaining how he connected to the character:
"I quite enjoyed playing Daniel, I related to him," he explained. "He's a disappointed man who was in publishing and always wanted to write his own book but hadn't.
"With all that going on, I think I created a fascinating back story to him - none of which come through in the final performance."
