Leeds United have set a huge asking price for Arsenal-linked Raphinha as interest builds in their star player, according to reports.

The Brazilian has been in great form for the Yorkshire outfit since moving to England from Rennes in a deal worth £17m in 2020.

Over his two seasons in the Premier League, Raphinha has contributed 17 goals and 12 assists to become one Leeds’ most sought-after players.

And now Arsenal, Tottenham, Chelsea and Barcelona have all been linked with potential moves for the Brazil international, who is ready to leave Elland Road this summer.

Widespread reports claimed that Arsenal had their opening bid for Raphinha rejected on Wednesday with the Gunners expected to go back in with an improved offer.

And the Gunners’ arch-rivals Spurs have apparently told Leeds that they are ready to make an offer but he is not their ‘first-choice option’.

Transfer expert Fabrizio Romano wrote in the Guardian that Arsenal ‘intend to push again to sign the Brazil international’ after seeing their first offer turned down.

He adds that Leeds ‘want far more than the £35m-£40m’ Barcelona wanted to give them to complete a deal earlier this month and are ‘likely to require at least £65m to convince them to sell’.

Arsenal have already strengthened this summer by signing Porto midfielder Fabio Vieira and now they ‘want to bring in Raphinha and his international teammate Gabriel Jesus’ too.

Meanwhile, former Premier League defender Scott Minto thinks Raphinha should consider staying at Leeds in an effort to be in good form for the start of the World Cup.

Minto told talkSPORT: “If I were him I’d be thinking absolutely short-term, I’d be thinking World Cup. I’d be thinking I can make myself an absolute legend in my country so what’s the best place for me to be next season.

“If the Brazil boss says he can be in the team if he’s at Leeds, I’d stay. My initial thinking right now would be how do I get into that Brazil team and make myself a legend so where should I be next season, not in three, four, five.”
