Hubert Wu: My family was once opposed to showbiz
6 Aug – Hubert Wu recently admitted that his family was strongly opposed to him joining showbiz the first time he expressed his intention to do so.
As reported on Mingpao, the singer who sat down for an interview recently, revealed that he came from a family of businessmen and was expected to inherit the business as soon as he completed his studies.
"But I am the kind of person who believes in people easily. I am not business material," he said.
His determination in joining showbiz even caused a fall-out with some family members, he said, mostly due to their concern that it would affect his studies.
"So I decided to prove that I can take care of both things and graduated university smoothly and met their expectations. After seeing how much I fought for the things I love, they finally became supportive of me," he said.
When it comes to his career in both singing and acting, Hubert stated that he still wants to focus on his music and to try more roles in the future.
"I want to try to play professional characters like a lawyer or a doctor, because I know I can never be those in reality," he said.
