Genshin Impact publisher and developer HoYoverse is on a roll in 2022, revealing yet another new game in Zenless Zone Zero, an urban fantasy action-role playing game.
Zenless Zone Zero is set in the post-apocalyptic metropolitan city of New Eridu, featuring a futuristic art style paired with "an engaging story, distinctive characters, as well as fast-paced gameplay and combat systems".
Players will take on the role of a “Proxy”, a special professional who guides people in their exploration of the “Hollows” — a supernatural disaster that has destroyed human civilization.
You will be joined by a diverse group of partners in your adventures to conquer enemies known as "Ethereals", the monstrous denizens of the Hollows, including what looks to be a bear with a giant gun. Yes, a bear with a giant gun.
From the trailer, it looks like Zenless Zone Zero will come with HoyoVerse’s signature 3D anime style blended with a fluid-looking and cinematic action-oriented combat system, much like their other games.
Players can also switch through characters in their team to unleash powerful attacks, skills, and unlimited QTE combos. HoyoVerse also said it has also implemented a rogue-like gameplay mechanism when it comes to exploration.
Zenless Zone Zero will be available on PC and iOS, though HoYoverse has yet to provide a release date for the game.
You can sign up for the initial closed beta for Zenless Zone Zero here. The kick-off date and schedule of the Closed Beta will be revealed at a later date.
HoyoVerse, best known as the developer behind smash-hits like Genshin Impact and Honkai Impact 3rd, has also recently opened the closed beta for Honkai: Star Rail, its other new title announced this year.
