Houston Submerged in Floodwater After Heavy Rain

A flash-flood watch was issued for southeast Texas on Wednesday, May 19, after heavy rains swept the region, according to the National Weather Service (NWS)

The weather service said the advisory was prompted by Wednesday morning thunderstorms that followed previous rainfall earlier in the week. The NWS said the flood watch was in effect through Thursday at 1 pm.
