Houses and Store Damaged by Quake in Guanica, Puerto Rico

A 5.7-magnitude earthquake hit the US territory of Puerto Rico on Monday, January 6, causing damage to some buildings and rock falls in some areas, as seen in these videos from Guanica, posted by a local blogger.

Puerto Rico’s Bureau of Emergency Management said there was no danger of a tsunami following the quake. Gov Wanda Vazquez Garced appealed for calm, and said she was in contact with the mayors of Guayanilla and Guanica, two places affected by the quake. Credit: El Leon Fiscalizador via Storyful
