'House Hunters' Featured Its First-Ever Throuple and People Are Furious
House Hunters featured its first-ever throuple.
HGTV viewers didn't know what to think about Brian, Lori, and Geli.
HGTV made some major waves with the latest episode of the show House Hunters.
The long-running series has featured couples for years, but on “Three’s Not a Crowd in Colorado Springs” they followed their first-ever throuple: Three people who are all in a romantic relationship.
Brian, Lori, and Geli were searching for their dream home, which they would also share with Brian and Lori’s two children. Lori and Brian were married in 2002, and then later met Geli at a bar. Brian, Lori, and Geli had a commitment ceremony in Aruba.
As with any House Hunters episode, all three had very specific wants lists. Geli, for example, wanted a white kitchen and a three car garage, while Lori hoped for a fireplace. Brian was the “practical” one, looking for good views and space for their kids to spread out. Oh, and everyone wanted a “master bath that can accommodate three sinks,” because obviously.
Fans on social media couldn’t believe that HGTV chose a throuple, and most were thrilled to see the family included.

There’s a throuple on House Hunters tonight and while that might be the surprising part, I’m here to tell you that they think a move-in ready house with 3 sinks in the master bath exists 🙃

Others weren’t quite as enthusiastic, saying HGTV “lost all sense of morality” and threatened to not watch anymore.
I’m watching HGTV “House Hunters” and there is a “”Throuple” looking for a home. I’m disappointed in #HGTV for promoting this as normal pic.twitter.com/zy0xgFv9NV

But none of the negativity seemed to bother HGTV. In a statement to USA Today, the network reiterated that they “feature all homebuyers and living choices” so naysayers might want to get used to it.
In the end, they decided on the property with the best views (and the highest price). There wasn’t a third sink, but Lori has a plan to remedy that, so we'll consider it a win for the trio.
