Hotels.com Is Giving Away $5,000 in Honeymoon Funds to Couples Who Moved Their Weddings
It’s been a rough wedding season. If you’ve had to postpone or cancel your wedding plans, Hotels.com wants to help you out. The company is giving couples a chance to be married online by its legally ordained mascot Captain, or now "Chaplain," Obvious and get $5,000 in honeymoon funds. How does that sound?
I want to marry you! Did that come out wrong? I want to marry you and your significant other. You into that? Cool, let me officiate your virtual wedding. Yes, I’m ordained. Yes, this is weird. Yes, you could get a $5K honeymoon. https://t.co/UkEPEFCbVZ pic.twitter.com/qdXCQ2j2EP

Couples can apply for this sweet deal from now until May 17 at 5 p.m. CT. Four couples will be chosen to have a virtual wedding and receive $5,000 to spend on future honeymoon travel through Hotels.com. To enter, couples must fill out a questionnaire that asks a few technical questions and why they want Captain Obvious to marry them. Each couple has the option to share a fact or story that they’d like incorporated into their ceremony, too. The ceremonies will take place on either June 6 or June 13, and couples can give their preference when applying. The submissions will be judged on originality, creativity, and passion, so make sure you really put effort into it your application. Potential winners will be notified by May 22.
If your wedding plans have been completely ruined this year, winning this contest will make your situation at least somewhat better. Having $5,000 to spend on a much needed honeymoon will make you even more excited to escape to a gorgeous beach or romantic city. Who wouldn't want money to put toward a vacation?
