This hotel has been lighting up its rooms to create different messages through its windows – often hopeful, heartfelt, encouraging, and witty – for Malaysians.
The tourism industry may have been disrupted by the COVID-19 pandemic, but that didn’t seem to stop Hotel Tenera in Bandar Baru Bangi, Selangor, from lighting up the night skies and our hearts. The hotel does this by lighting up various rooms.
Messages vary from cheeky ones like “Kata nak diet? (You said you wanted to go on a diet?) to heartfelt ones like “TQ KKM,” which is a tribute to the Ministry of Health, or KKM.
The hotel has been posting images of its light displays on its Instagram account. The first one went up on March 25. The hotel has lit up a total of 64 messages ever since.
We’ve picked some of our favorites to show you guys here because there’s simply too many to choose from.
FYI, Prime Minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin uses Makcik Kiah to represent the regular Malaysian whenever he tries to illustrate new government measures like cash aid.
Besides heartfelt notes, Hotel Tenera leaves reminders and witty jabs for Malaysians every night.
