Honorary 9-Year-Old Police Officer Gets Big Sendoff on Way to Hospital

Members of the Northern Regional Police Department joined a neighborhood in suburban Pittsburgh in giving a sendoff to a nine-year-old boy receiving treatment for a brain tumor.

Video shows a line of people holding balloons and signs of support to Cooper Nindl as he headed to St. Jude’s Hospital in Tennessee to continue his treatment, police wrote on Facebook.

The boy was made the first honorary police officer of the Northern Regional Police Department more than two weeks ago, after proving “to be strong , resilient, and a fighter during these times.”
